A recent article in Sarasota County, Florida points to the role of performance based incentives: “However, lured by offers from distant states and other Florida cities, some of them were in danger of leaving Sarasota County. What helped to keep them here were performance-based incentives. Not give-aways. Not free lunches. When a company fulfills its promise to create higher paying jobs, only then will it receive the incentives.” Read more here.
