Kiplinger has just released its annual “Best Cities” for the next decade list, and Seattle is one of them. But despite its focus on money, Kiplinger did not solely base its research on average annual incomes, salary hikes, or cost of living. Although those monetary issues are major concerns in choosing a city for living, people need more. They need art and culture, education and innovation. The list:

1. Austin, Tex
2. Seattle, Wash
3. Washington, DC
4. Boulder, Colo
5. Salt Lake City, Utah
6. Rochester, Minn
7. De Moine, Iowa
8. Burlington, Verm
9. West Hartford, Conn
10. Topeka, Kans
